Having returned to Los Angeles, Jennelah studied extensively with great
dancers and Middle Eastern musicians. Inspired to move to the next level of her art,
she made it her mission to work and study with the masters of her artform.
Along the way, she became enthralled by Arabic music.
Today, Jennelah is focusing on Egyptian cabaret style, and incorporating her folk
knowledge and modern experience to create her own flowing, sensuous style.
From her studies in Morocco, she brings North African technique and melds it with
that of classic dancers from Tahiya Carioca to Samia Gamal and the amazing,
incomparable Nadia Gamal. She can be found giving solo performances at showcases
and private parties in Los Angeles and teaching classes with an emphasis on embracing
the feminine and the beauty of real women and real bodies.
Jennelah’s current goals are to gain a greater repertoire for professional performing
and finding an artistic home with a dance company or troupe.
“I think of my body as an instrument in an orchestra,” she says.
“I want to use the art of dance to enhance the music and the audience’s experience of it.”
